Digit
After having left, in her words, her "uptight materialistic, misguided and hopelessly miserable"
family at the age of 16, she emancipated herself, changed her name to Digit, and joined the
DIPS Family as an office assistant.  She was quickly recruited into the DIPS Technician and
Mechanical Training Program when she successfully unjammed the office copy machine.

Proving she had a knack for fixing things,
Digit graduated with high marks in every facet of
her training.  Noticeably lacking recognition was her DIPS Team Spirit and Attitude
Acceptance, keeping her from honors and a path of her choosing within the company.  She
spent two years working as a DIPS Ships' Mechanic, Motor Pool Division, until a lawsuit was
filed on behalf of the female employees in the company, demanding more promotions within
the ranks of female Carbon Based Life Forms.  At this time,
Digit was assigned as a DIPS
Ships' Mechanic's Assistant, Onboard Division, where she flew only three missions until she
was promoted to the top Mechanic aboard the
DIPS Ship, Sugar Hill, following the loss of the
DIPS Ship Mechanic C. Cooter to microscopic organisms known as Rhythmless Annoying
Plagiarizers which were plaguing the ship's music system and driving its crew near madness.

Digit has been a DIPS Ship Mechanic on over 50 shipping missions, holding the DIPS
Corporation's second best survival record, second only to Flight Commander T. Striker who
survived 74 missions until his death while transporting the highly "Not Know Status" shipment
onboard the
DIPS Ship, Enola Gay.
