A Heavy Lifting Designate (HLD) is designated to lift heavy objects. He
may also be called upon to push, pull, carry, balance, leap, swing, juggle,
pirouette, tight-rope walk or otherwise move objects which typically weigh
as much as a Supermodel, but may weigh up to that of a two headed
Crocodile on the planet Mercury, if one could be expected to survive there.
There is no experience necessary, but a mandatory unpaid 3 week training
camp is required before an applicant will be interviewed.
HLDs receive an hourly rate based on test scores from multiple choice
questions covering the subjects of French Literature of the 1800's and
Trigonometry equations where x=3.
Please, no Undead applicants who have already had limbs sewn back on.

Location: Alpha - Gamma Quadrants
Location: Alpha - Gamma Quadrants
This position requires a minimum commitment of 7 months in space, 4 of
which are paid following the U.I.S.E. approved 90 day probationary
period. Where lifting is a major component of this job, because it is part
of the Onboard Division, HLDs in smaller vessels, such as the Chevette
Class ships, must take on the responsibility to aide the Commander in
flight procedures and participate in ship cleanliness drills. Above all,
HLDs must continuously monitor the packages, including constant
battening and re-battening.
A written exam is required consisting of word problems in which you must
show your work. HLDs must have excellent customer contact skills or
else they will not be allowed off of the ship during the voyage. HLDs are
expected to comply with DIPS appearance guidelines and wear the
company-provided uniform, including undergarments. If you are allergic
to any man-made fabrics, you cannot qualify.
This is a 100% Carbon Based Life Form position. Others need not apply.

The perfect candidate for this Supervisory position must be able to
designate work to the HLDs who work under him. He should perform
the job in a lack-luster manner, taking multiple "smoke breaks," coming
in late, leaving early, forgetting to give lunch breaks, always scheduling
employees on the days they request off and spending the busiest part
of the shift buried in his office doing "work" on the computer.
Maintaining a solid "yes-man" attitude to Upper Management,
assigning fault with others, and assuming credit for all jobs well done is
essential for this Middle Management position.
This is a salaried position, hours can be flexible, providing the HLDs
are performing the work.
